THE SONIFY GUIDES
How to Convert YouTube to MP3 on Android
Use Chrome on Android to prepare an MP3, save it to your device and open it with a compatible audio app.
Step-by-step guide
- Find a video you have permission to download and convert. In YouTube, choose Share, then Copy link.
- Open Sonify’s YouTube to MP3 Converter in Chrome on Android.
- Paste the link, choose an output bitrate and confirm you have the necessary permissions.
- Tap Convert to MP3. Keep the page open while the task is processed.
- When the result is ready, tap Download MP3. Accept Chrome’s download prompt if one appears.
- Open Chrome’s Downloads list or your file manager’s Downloads folder to find your MP3.
Where your MP3 is saved on Android
In Chrome, open the menu and choose Downloads. You can also look in the Downloads folder in Files by Google or your device’s file manager. Tap the MP3 and choose a compatible audio app if prompted. Storage locations and menu names can vary by device and browser version.
Troubleshooting
The download failed+
Check that conversion is complete and the result has not expired. Check your connection and available storage, then tap Download MP3 again while the file is available. If it has expired, start a new conversion. Do not disable your device security settings.
The file will not play+
Check that the download finished and open the MP3 with a compatible audio app. If the saved file is incomplete, download it again before the result expires.
Audio quality is low+
The output cannot exceed the detail in the original recording. Choosing 320 kbps cannot repair a low-quality source.
This is general Chrome on Android guidance. Exact file-saving and background behaviour varies by device and browser version; it is not a claim that every Android version has been tested.
