This policy describes the Sonify service at sonify.uk. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@sonify.uk.

Information used to run the tools

When you submit a conversion, your video link, selected bitrate and permissions confirmation are sent through Cloudflare to our conversion service on a RackNerd-hosted server. The service requests the source audio and temporarily stores it to make your MP3. Processing is not entirely local to your browser.

An essential HttpOnly session cookie associates conversion tasks with your browser. It lasts up to 24 hours. The app may keep a task ID in session storage to restore your result when you refresh the same tab. This is not an account or a public sharing link.

Temporary files and deletion

Completed MP3 files are available for 15 minutes after conversion. Source files are removed after successful encoding. Failed, cancelled and expired task files are scheduled for cleanup; you can also use Delete file. If a storage fault delays physical deletion, the service blocks access and retries cleanup. A restart invalidates outstanding tasks.

Files that you have saved to your own device remain on that device. Deleting a server result does not delete your copy. We do not maintain a public audio library.

Technical data and service providers

Cloudflare receives network request data, including IP addresses and browser information, when serving the site and proxying requests. Our conversion service uses a keyed identifier derived from the connection IP for hourly rate limits; application rate-limit state is temporary. Source requests are sent to YouTube. Infrastructure providers may process technical and security logs under their own policies.

We do not include pasted links, video titles, task identifiers or audio in analytics events. With your optional permission, this release loads Plausible on our self-hosted analytics instance and Google Analytics to measure page visits and tool events. Our custom tool events contain only known page paths, tool mode, output bitrate and fixed failure categories, without your input link, video title, job ID, file name or audio. Google Analytics also records standard visits, sessions and engagement time, using analytics identifiers and browser/device information; providers receive your IP address and may derive approximate location. Google Analytics may use analytics cookies; we do not enable advertising features. You can refuse without affecting the tools, or withdraw using Analytics preferences. The choice is saved in your browser for up to 180 days. No session-recording script is installed.

Questions and requests

You can delete an available result using its Delete file control. For other requests, email us with enough information to describe your concern. Do not email private credentials or unnecessary copies of your media.
